About Us

Miriam and her husband of 32+ years, Robin, have lived on Indian Creek Ranch since the fall of 2000, after having lived in Austin for more than 20 years. They have 2 grown children and have recently become grandparents for the first time!

Miriam has been an animal lover her entire life and is, by nature and character, a naturalist. She has studied animal behavior from the most important perspective, studying the actual animal in its natural environment. Interactions between all species have fascinated her since she was a small child, and they continue to do so today.

Miriam is a certified dog trainer, member of APDT and evaluator in the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program. Miriam is also Vet. recommended.

Robin and Miriam are the pack leaders of a sweet, loving, intelligent, and mischievous 4 1/2 year old Rottweiler named Mabel and a loving 1 1/2 year old Lab Husky mix, Chip. Three relatively worthless but well loved and spoiled cats also reside at the ranch: Gus, Elvis, and Pixel. They are not really worthless as they do keep the mouse population under control and are constantly keeping us entertained.

Robin and Miriam also raised South African Boer goats from 2000 to the fall of 2007 on their ranch. They still have two loyal and hardworking donkeys, Miss Molly and Wilbur, who watch over the ducks. Muscove ducks joined the fowl population in 2006. There are no bugs here!
